Susan joined Ironwood Capital in 2008 and has primary responsibility for expansion of Ironwood Capital’s investment management business into the pension fund, endowment and foundation markets.

She has more than 25 years of investment and financial management experience.  From 2001 to 2007 she served as the Chief Investment Officer of the $25 billion State of Connecticut pension fund.  Prior to her tenure with Connecticut, she served as Chief Investment Officer and Senior Vice President of Orion Capital Corporation and had also been a Vice President of Travelers Property Casualty Insurance Company.  Susan began her investment career in 1982 as a private placement lender with Aetna, Inc. 

Susan holds a B.S. from the Connecticut Board for State Academic Awards; an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School; and a Doctorate of Humane Letters from Charter Oak State College.
