Our semi-annual limited partner meeting was hosted last week at the office of Action Environmental Services, an Ironwood portfolio company.
In addition to our normal portfolio review, it included a tour of Action’s unique, state-of-the-art material recovery facility and transfer station located in the Bronx, New York.
The 100,000 square foot material recovery facility (MRF) and transfer station were specifically designed to process and sort (via high-tech optics) New York City and New Jersey commercial waste streams to extract valuable commodities that would otherwise be sent to a landfill. It is the largest facility of its kind in the United States and we were thrilled to offer a first-hand view.
A special thanks to our host, Brian Giambagno and his team at Action – and congratulations on developing this state-of-the-art, environment-friendly recycling and recovery facility.
